Corona pandemic current situation in Sri Lanka- The second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine is selling for Rs 5000 in the black market – (GMOA)

The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) says that those who received the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine administered in Sri Lanka for corona control have to pay Rs. 5,000 to obtain the second dose.

The secretary of the association Dr Benal Pagnanandu said that his association had received complaints that an institution had instructed him to pay Rs. 5,000 to register for the second dose.

He also said that it is a serious problem to sell the stock of the vaccine for money when a large number of people who received the first dose of the vaccine are waiting without the second dose.

He said that he had lodged a complaint with the Minister of Health and the Director-General of Health Services and requested a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
