This is a fatal decision by the government and Patient deaths will increase – The Public Health Inspectors Association

The Public Health Inspectors Association says the government’s decision to keep corona infected but asymptomatic people in their homes will be a reason to further increase the death toll.

The president of the association Upul Rohana points out that there are not enough doctors or health staff to go to those houses in case of an emergency when corona infected people are kept at home.

He said that keeping infected at home was fatal in such a situation and that there was a risk that the patients who needed immediate treatment would die at home if they were not provided with timely facilities.

Minister of State for Corona Sudarshani Fernandopulle stated that the pilot program to keep corona infected people in their homes asymptomatic due to the overcapacity of hospitals in the country will commence from today.
