The Ministry of Health says that 1,891 new corona infections were identified in the New Year bunch yesterday (May 02).

It is the highest number of corona infections reported in a day in Sri Lanka since the pandemic started.

Also, the total number of corona infections in the country has increased to 111,753 and 9 more corona deaths were reported yesterday (May 02) in the country.

The number of deaths due to coronavirus infection in the country has risen to 696 with that.
