Mrs. Sri Lanka 2021 Controversy- The government had decided to introduce rules to beauty pageants

The Government has decided to introduce rules to regulate beauty pageants held in Sri Lanka.

This decision has taken after the recent controversial incident that occurred at the Mrs. Sri Lanka for Mrs. World pageant 2021.

State Minister of Women and Child Development Piyal Nishantha said it is important to monitor any event hosted using the name of Sri Lanka and discussions are taking to introduce guidelines to regulate private events held related to women and children.
