Jaffna Mayor Vishwanathan Maniwannan said that there was no change in the decision taken regarding the Jaffna Urban Security Force and that a decision would be taken after studying the facts regarding the change of uniform.

The Colombo Municipal Council is also using a uniform similar to the one introduced to the Brigade appointed to beautify the city of Jaffna and he was questioning whether it was a also a promotion of LTTE.

“The police did not announce any decision regarding the uniform in question. I reject the allegations that the LTTE was promoted. It was with pure intent that such a group was introduced to beautify the city. I was arrested here on a political conspiracy.; He further added.
