“No change in decision Jaffna City Security Force will be activated”- Jaffna Mayor

Jaffna Mayor Vishwanathan Maniwannan said that there was no change in the decision taken regarding the Jaffna Urban Security Force and that a decision would be taken after studying the facts regarding the change of uniform. The Colombo Municipal Council is also using a uniform similar to the one introduced to the Brigade appointed to beautify the city of Jaffna and he was questioning whether it was a also a promotion of LTTE. “The police did not announce any decision regarding the uniform in question. I reject the allegations that the LTTE was promoted. It was with pure intent that such a group was introduced to beautify the city. I was arrested here on a political conspiracy.; He further added.
Seven Local Government Institutions in the Western Province had stopped transportation of garbage to Kerawalapitiya

The transportation of garbage to Kerawalapitiya has been suspended due to delays in the payment of seven Local Government Institutions in the Western Province. The Western Provincial Waste Management Authority states that its authority has so far transported the garbage dumped at kadirayana to Kerawalapitiya. However, the Authority states that they are facing an issue because the dues are yet not payed by the seven institutions.
