Roshan Abeysundera set a new Asian record by swimming Talaimannar to Danushkodi

Roshan Abeysundera one of the Air force Swimmer leading Aircraftman has set a new Asian record by swimming across the Palk Strait from Talaimannar to Dhanushkodi in India and returning to Sri Lanka.

His recorded time was 28 hours, 19 minutes and 43 seconds and distance was 59 kilometers 300 meters.He was back to Sri Lanka yesterday.

He is 32 years old and join to Sri Lanka Air Force in the year 2008. he has the Sri Lankan National Swimming record of 49km in 23hrs on 26 March 2021.
