Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage acquitted by Colombo High Court for misappropriation of the trade union fund of a trade union called Sri Lanka Nidahas Kamkaru Congress.

In May 2017 Colombo High Court place an indictments for alleged criminal breach of trust of Rs.3.9 million funds. Attorney General filed indictment against him in regarding this issue
