The National Transport Commission says that a bus service will be started from today (01) for the transportation of school children. Its Director General Dr Nilan Miranda said that these buses will be added to the operation in addition to the student buses. The Ministry of Education says that from today (01) to 05, only 3 government and government-approved private school days will be held this week. Accordingly, schools will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. A person has died from a gunshot

A person has died from a gunshot in the Rathgama area. Police said two unidentified men came on a motorcycle and fired with a T56 type firearm and fled. A 45-year-old resident of Rathgama, Devenigoda has died due to gunshot wounds. Two other people were injured in the incident and they are currently receiving treatment at Karapitiya Hospital. Police said that further investigations are underway regarding the shooting.
Foreign travel ban for sports officials

A person was killed by a gunshot

A person died in a shooting last night (30) at Vivekananda Kanda Road, Coastal Police Domain, Colombo. The police said that the shooting was done by two unknown persons who came on a motorcycle and fled. The police say that the person injured in the shooting died on admission to the National Hospital. A 51-year-old resident of the Kotahena area has been murdered. The body has now been deposited at the Colombo National Hospital. The reason for the shooting has not yet been revealed. The Ministry of Monetary, Economic Stabilization and National Policy say that the Sri Lankan authorities are working with debt restructuring consultants to reach an agreement on the debt restructuring program. The Ministry of Finance announced the progress of the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund. It shows that the credit counsellors have made considerable progress with the analytical framework for the credit operation before formally starting work with creditors in Sri Lanka. The announcement issued by the Ministry of Finance states that the government is obliged to work in good faith with its creditors to establish a comprehensive debt restructuring program that achieves fair and sustainable results for all stakeholders. Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador Hee Sen Hong says that since China is also a member of the International Monetary Fund, China hopes that Sri Lanka’s negotiations with the International Monetary Fund will be successful. The Chinese ambassador assured us that necessary support will be provided at the IMF board meeting. These comments were expressed during the meeting between Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Mr Hee Sen Hong at the Prime Minister’s Office. Mr Hee Sen Hong emphasized the importance of increasing Chinese tourism to Sri Lanka once again in that meeting. Chinese investment opportunities related to industry and agriculture in the Hambantota Economic Zone centred on the Southern Province have also been discussed here. Or you can register yourself by texting 1987 with “REG<space>ten digit electricity account number”. 2) CEBCare Mobile App – The facility of receiving the bill after reading the monthly bill is also provided using the CEBCare friendly mobile app. 3) E-Bill (e-Bill) service for receiving electricity bills through email has been started. Electricity consumers of the Electricity Board can visit the website bill.ceb.lk and register for the e-Bill service.
