Sri Lanka has signed a joint statement prepared by China expressing concern over the human rights situation in the United Kingdom. The joint statement was presented at the 47th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva. The Chinese delegation in Geneva said in a statement that It is an honor to speak on behalf of a group of countries. We express our deep concern over the human rights situation in the United Kingdom. Racism, racism, hate speech, phobia and related violence have long existed in the United Kingdom. The Chinese delegation said the discrimination had been seen in the history of the United Kingdom since the trade of slave Africans through colonialism.

Samagi Jana Balawega MP Eran Wickramaratne states that Sri Lanka is the only country where five members of the same family are in the cabinet. He added that no other country in the world has five members of the same family in the cabinet. He said that the people are under a lot of pressure as the prices of essential commodities have gone up more than the previous government and the income sources of the people have been reduced and they have lost their jobs and the income of those who have been earning daily income has been lost. He said this while was addressing a media briefing at the office of the Leader of the Opposition.
Cattle slaughter will be completely banned in Sri Lanka by next August
The government is taking steps to legalize a complete ban on cattle slaughter in the country by next August. This program is being implemented on a idea made by the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. The bill banning cattle slaughter has been completed and is due to be tabled in Parliament in the next two weeks. Once passed, cattle slaughter will be banned in the country and those who violate it will be punished.

It is reported that many members of the Prime Minister’s staff are uneasy over the appointment due to a lack of clarity on how the appointment was made. It is learned that the personal staff of the Prime Minister as well as the staff of the Prime Minister are not adequately aware of this. However, Kaushi Wedikararachchi had posted on her social media account how she received the appointment letter from Mahinda Rajapaksa. She is a model and announcer and her husband is the chairman of the National Youth Services Council

Former Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan has said that the players of the current Sri Lankan cricket team have objected to adding the Sri Lankan logo to their uniforms during training. 15 years old girl assaulting case – “Kotuwe hamuduruwo” talked about the 15 years old girl rape case
The famous Buddhist monk Kotuwe hamuduruwo was named as one of the main suspects of the 15 years old girl raping scene. He said that he had never admitted such a sinful incident and people are trying to frame him as they are afraid that he will come to politics. China bans fake PCR certificates from Colombo Main private Hospital
The Chinese Embassy in Colombo says that the results of the PCR tests conducted at a leading private hospital in Colombo to diagnose corona infections are unacceptable. Therefore, the Embassy states that the approval of the PCR tests conducted by that private hospital on Sri Lankans will be revoked. The embassy said the decision was taken because several people who have been confirmed not to be infected by recent tests at the hospital were reported as Infected in China. The Chinese embassy said the new decision would take effect on July 13 in the interests of all parties.
Covid 19 pandemic Sri Lanka – More cases of covid 19 delta variant infections identified in the country
The Director-General of Health Services says that 24 people infected with the delta strain of the coronavirus have been identified so far. Dr Asela Gunawardena further said that these infections have been reported including 14 previously identified and 10 newly identified. He also said that random investigations have been launched to find out the distribution of the Delta variety in the country.
Sri Lanka reported 41 covid 19 related deaths yesterday
Sri Lanka reported 41 deaths due to corona infection, Government Information Department. Accordingly, the number of corona deaths in the country has risen to 3574.
Chairman of Litro Gas, has been removed from his post
Anil Koswatte, Chairman of Litro Gas, has been removed from his post and the Secretary Treasury has informed Sri Lanka Insurance. Mr. Thishara Jayasinghe has been appointed as the Chairman of Litro Gas Company. He has also informed that this course of action should be taken as soon as possible with immediate effect. Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation owns a majority stake in Litro Gas.
