Fatal accident in Ampara that killed three

 Three persons, including a child, were killed in a road accident in the Ali Wanguwa area on the Hingurana Siyambalanduwa road in the Ampara – Damana police division.

The accident occurred when a lorry traveling from Damana to Wadinagala collided with a car coming from the opposite direction, police said.

Eight persons were traveling in the car at the time of the accident and three of them were admitted to Ampara and Damana hospitals with serious injuries.

Police stated that the three were killed there. The dead included a 31-year-old man, a 29-year-old woman and a four-year-old boy.

The other five injured are being treated at the Ampara Hospital.

The police stated that the accident had taken place due to the careless driving of the driver of the car and the lorry.

The driver of the lorry has been arrested in connection with the accident.

Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
