The latest announcement about the power cut

The Ceylon Electricity Board says that there will be no power cuts in any area today (11).

However, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) yesterday (jan. 10) announced a timetable for power cuts in the event of a future need.

Accordingly, the A, B, C and D areas of the island will be divided into four zones and power cuts will be imposed in those areas between 5.30 pm and 9.30 pm if required.

The cuts are set to take place from Monday to Saturday, but Sunday is not included in the schedule.

The announcement also said the cuts would take effect if necessary to take steps to manage electricity demand
