According to Asanka Bandara, the champion of automotive engineering and motor racing, the quality of Sri Lankan fuels has deteriorated recently.

He also said that the engine of the vehicle in which he and another person had gone was similarly damaged during the Katukurunda motor racing.

He also states that substandard fuel consumption causes more damage to the engines of vehicles.

He made these comments in an interview with Neth Radio.
