Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) MP Harini Amarasuriya has stated that she agrees to legalize prostitution.

In a program on Independent Television, she said that it was up to a woman to decide on her body and that any profession should be protected.

Government MPs Kokila Gunawardena and Diana Gamage who participated in the program also said that prostitution should be legalized.
