The main suspect in the murder of the underworld leader Sunsain Sudda alias Amila Pannarasanna has been shot dead by the police today.

When Lasantha Hewalunuwilage went with the police to show his hidden weapons, he had attacked the police and tried to escape from custody.

He was shot dead by the police. The death occurred in the Kalutara area.

Two police officers were also injured in the attack.
