The shortage of vegetables in the market these days and the high prices have also affected the Parliament canteen.

After the second reading vote of the budget yesterday, no vegetables were prepared in the dining hall of the Parliamentary staff and in the canteen of the journalists.

A parliamentary spokesman said the situation was due to high vegetable prices and a shortage of vegetables in the market.

He also stated that it has become impossible to prepare vegetables for lunch in the coming days. Lunch at the Parliament Staff Restaurant and Journalists’ Restaurant yesterday consisted only of rice, potato cakes, coconut balls, meatball curry, cucumber salad and bread curry.
