Five members of the same family were died in a fire

Five members of the same family were died in a fire that broke out in a temporary house yesterday night, Ragala Police stated.

The deceased have been identified as two children aged 1 and 12, their mother, grandfather and grandmother and they were
residents of the central part of Ragala Estate in the Ragala Police Division,

Police stated that the fire had started at around 10.30 pm on the 7th and that all the five persons who were in the house at that time had been burnt to death.

A birthday party of the deceased 01-year-old girl was held on the night of (07) and a 26-year-old member of the family was out of the house because he was drunk and was not injured.

 The bodies of the victims have been kept at the same location until the Magistrate conducts inquiries and the Ragala Police are conducting investigations into the incident.
