The Teachers and Principals Trade Union Alliance says that even if schools are reopened, teachers will not participate in teaching activities until their salary issue is resolved.

The alliance also said that its union representatives had already withdrawn from online teaching.

The General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers’ Union Joseph Stalin stated that if this issue is not discussed and resolved, a huge decision will be taken.

They said at a media briefing in Colombo that the government should take action to resolve their issue before starting schools or holding examinations.
