A woman was arrested yesterday (19) on suspicion of killing her husband during a marital dispute at a house in the Pumbuhar area in Jaffna, Jaffna Police said.
Thurairajah Selvakumar, 32, a resident of Pumbuhar, was killed in the incident.
Police suspect that the husband had died as a result of an altercation between him and his wife following an assault by his wife with a coconut scraper in the kitchen.
Jaffna Magistrate A. Peter Paul went to the scene and the magistrate conducted an investigation and ordered the police to conduct further investigations into the murder.
However, the Jaffna Police have arrested a man on suspicion of having an affair with the woman.
