Minister of State Ajith Nivard Kabraal said that the curfew was imposed during the night to prevent people from gathering at their homes to have fun during that time.
He added that night parties were being held and that the virus had spread through the country, which led to the imposition of a night curfew.
The curfew has been imposed from 10.00 pm to 04.00 am daily to control the spread of the corona virus.
