Ayurvedic hospitals do not accept critically ill patients. If they become critically ill they will be sent to other hospitals – Ayurvedic Commissioner

Ayurvedic Commissioner Dhammika Abhayagunawardena says that it is not fair to say that none of the patients receiving treatment at the Ayurveda Hospital in Sri Lanka have died due to corona infection.

Patients receiving treatment at the Ayurveda Hospital will be transferred to another hospital if they become ill, he said.

In that sense, it is true that none of the infected died in Ayurvedic hospitals, but he said that the statement could hurt others.

He said that critically ill patients would not be admitted to Ayurvedic hospitals for treatment and only those who could be cured with normal complications would be admitted.

He added that deaths were very low when only manageable patients were accepted.
