Easter attack Sri Lanka – Easter attack bombers father has been acquitted of all charges

Aladdin Mohamed Muwat, the father of the suicide bomber who died in a bomb blast at St. Anthony’s Church in Kochchikade during the Easter Sunday series, has been acquitted of all charges.

The suspect was remanded for about a year and a half in connection with the incident.

The Magistrate has ordered the release of the suspect following instructions from the Attorney General to release him from the case as he is no longer being prosecuted.

The CID had earlier sought the advice of the Attorney General to take further legal action against the suspect.

Accordingly, the Attorney General has informed the CID that no further action will be taken against the suspect as no evidence has been presented against him.
