The Constitution of the Republic of Sri Lanka was adopted by Parliament on 22 May 1972 to replace the Soulbury Constitution introduced by Britain.
Republic Day and is considered as one of the most important milestones in the history of this country because it complete the independence in Sri Lanka after it was British colony for years.
