Woman remanded for giving false information to 119

Two women have been arrested for giving false information to 119 police emergency number; Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated.

Dankotuwa police had received the call at around 2.45 pm yesterday (April 18) stating that a group of people had taken the explosives from a vehicle and were preparing to cause some issue; he further added.

Dankotuwa Police has revealed that the call was made by a 25-year-old woman who is residing in the Dankotuwa area after a special investigation.

The two women were arrested yesterday and produced before the Marawila Magistrate’s Court.

The women who made the call has been remanded till the 28th and the other woman has been released on bail.
