Four killed in lightning strike while working in fields

Four people had died in lightning strikes in several places in the country during past 24 hours.

Three people were died in a lightning strike in the Thannimurippu area in Mullaitivu and a 32-year-old man was killed in a lightning strike in the Kalawanchikudi area in Batticaloa. yesterday (April 15) afternoon.

They were struck by lightning while working in a field; police said.

Meanwhile, six persons were hospitalized after being struck by lightning in the Vandarumulai area in Batticaloa including four men and two women.
