Vacancies at the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (Project Contract Basis)


Introduction
The Ministry of Housing, Construction and Water Supply and the National Water Supply and Drainage Board have announced career opportunities on a project contract basis. Applications are invited from qualified citizens of Sri Lanka for vacancies within the Jaffna Kilinochchi Water Supply & Sanitation Project.
Vacancies

  • Engineer (Civil) – 02 Posts (Salary Code: D1 in MSD Circular: 02/2026 | Rs. 250,000/= + COL)
  • Engineering Assistant (Civil) – 01 Post (Salary Code: F (I) in MSD Circular: 02/2026 | Rs. 150,000/= + COL)
  • Engineering Assistant (Electrical) – 01 Post (Salary Code: F (I) in MSD Circular: 02/2026 | Rs. 150,000/= + COL)
  • Engineering Assistant (Mechanical) – 01 Post (Salary Code: F (I) in MSD Circular: 02/2026 | Rs. 150,000/= + COL)
  • Accounts Assistant (Note: Details listed in header overview)
    Requirements & Qualifications
  1. Post of Engineer – Civil
  • Option 1: A Bachelor’s Degree or a qualification recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as an equivalent qualification in the relevant field, AND Associate Membership or a similar Professional Qualification obtained from a recognized professional body in the relevant field, with at least 06 years of experience in the relevant field.
  • Option 2: Class II/III or above officer of a Government All-Island Service or similar status in the relevant field, AND at least 06 years of experience in Class II/III Post or a similar status in the relevant field.
  1. Post of Engineering Assistant (Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical)
  • Option 1: A Bachelor’s Degree / UGC-recognized equivalent qualification in the relevant field, OR a certificate of proficiency not below NVQ Level 7 issued by a Technical/Vocational Training Institute accepted by TVEC in the relevant technical field, AND at least 02 years of experience in the required area of specialization.
  • Option 2: A certificate of proficiency not below NVQ Level 6 issued by a Technical/Vocational Training Institute accepted by TVEC in the relevant technical field, AND at least 05 years of experience in the required area of specialization.
  • Option 3: A certificate of proficiency not below NVQ Level 5 issued by a Technical/Vocational Training Institute accepted by TVEC in the relevant technical field, AND at least 08 years of experience in the required area of specialization.
