According to Elpitiya Police, a person has died after buying a piece of bread and eating it after soaking it in water.

The police also said that a seventy-five-year-old resident of the area has died.

When his body was found, pieces of the bread he was eating were lying around.

The police said that the bread was eaten by soaking it in water and the body was handed over to Elpitiya Hospital for further investigations.
