Miss Universe pageant rules change – open to all, married and single from 2023

Miss Universe organizers have updated its rules for the first time in a historic move

From 2023, both the single and married contestants will be able to compete for the crown.

According to this, the regulation which was till now ‘unmarried women between 18 and 28 years old has been changed and amended to ‘women between 18 and 28 years old.

After they win, they will be known as ‘Miss Universe. The organizers think that female beauty does not require legal obligations.

The organizers have informed that this change was made to maintain the vitality of this tournament. Many beautiful women had to miss the opportunity due to marriage being an obstacle and also the fact that the world did not pay much attention to the ‘married beauty pageant’ separately.

In future, wives, pregnant women and mothers will be able to apply for this. The new rules will come into effect from the 2023 edition.

The report also stated that the national pageant directors received an e-mail notification about this. “We all believe that women should have agency over their own lives and that a man’s personal decisions should not stand in the way of their success.”

Only women between the ages of 18 and 28, who have never been married before or have no children, are allowed to participate in the competition, but the age limit is likely to change once wives and mothers are allowed, and official confirmation has yet to be issued.

Miss Universe celebrated its 70th edition last year and India’s Harnas Sandhu was selected as the winner.
