Political Crisis in Sri Lanka -IMF negotiation files missing from Prime Minister’s office after being captured by protesters

It is reported that many documents related to the discussions between the representatives of the International Monetary Fund and Sri Lanka have disappeared from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe and the Prime Minister held many rounds of talks with officials of the International Monetary Fund, but the Prime Minister’s Secretariat kept the records of all of them.

But the Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson stated that the files were lost after the militants took over the office.

He said that there was a lot of important information in those files regarding getting the necessary aid to Sri Lanka.
