Australian High Commissioner David Holly says that he will support the progress of Sri Lanka’s economic, social and maritime sectors.
Mr. David Holley mentioned this in the meeting held with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday afternoon (04) at Fort President House, Colombo.
Australia is well aware of the economic problem facing Sri Lanka. The country offered 50 million dollars as the highest amount of humanitarian aid given to the country by a single country.
This is just the beginning. The Australian High Commissioner said that Sri Lanka will continue to be supported in other fields. Further strengthening of understanding regarding maritime and illegal immigrants was discussed.
Mr. Holley mentioned that special attention will be paid to the promotion of Australian investment. Recalling the 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the President praised Australia’s close cooperation with Sri Lanka.
