What really made dancer to suicide?

The latest information regarding the incident involving dancer Imanthika Kumari who hanged herself in an apartment room in Maharagama recently has been reported.

Her death happened, while she was having an affair with a businessman father of two.

Born in a remote village in Hiriyala Tharahagolla, her friends know her as Achini Herath.

She was involved in a dance troupe in Nittambuwa for some time because of her desire to advance in the arts of beauty culture and dance.

Her job was to do backing dances to the songs of concerts. Her parents have said that she was interested in staying around Colombo and doing her work as she had to come to Colombo from time to time and it was difficult to come to Colombo regularly from far away. However, they did not want her to stay in Colombo.

Imanthika Kumari’s life in Colombo was spent in concerts and various programs. There was no day or night in her life. After working with the dance troupe for only two years, she rented a room in the Attidiya area and settled down.

Meanwhile, a great change took place in her life. She met a businessman in Nikaweratiya in May last year. He is a resident of Millagoda, Nikaweratiya and is a married father of two.

He lived a successful family life full of money and fulfilled his duties and responsibilities to his children’s education and to his wife. He meets Kumari at a concert he went to with a group of friends.

He looked at Kumari fondly and took her mobile number, telling her to call him if she needed to. The friendship between the two goes far beyond the phone calls made between the two in their spare time. It is during this time that the two fall in love.

Kumari also used to go shopping with Naufer who came to Colombo from time to time. Kumari who was staying at the lodge, said: “You leave the family. We can live together. I don’t mind about you treating your lfamily. We both could live separately. “

This is the story the kumari told him. He also promised the kumari that he would leave the family soon. Accordingly, the boyfriend had rented a room in a luxury apartment complex on the Maharagama Railway Mawatha last September on a monthly rent of Rs. 30,000.

Kumari, who has been living alone in the same room and dancing since September, forced her boyfriend to leave her family and move into the house. But he did not want to leave his family. Since this could not be decided at once, he made it a habit to come in the car once or twice a week in the evening and spend the night with Kumari and leave in the morning. There were also occasional fights between the two.

Another big issue between the two was the circulation of a photo of the two of them covering their faces from a WhatsApp group account. The last issue of this love story, which was amid anger and friendship, took place on the 12th. That was because of a story he told the princess. “Baby, I’m leaving everything and going abroad. I have to leave you too. ” That was a message he sent via WhatsApp. Kumari, who suspected that her boyfriend was missing her, firmly believed the story he told.

According to the police this message had led her suicidal attempt a few times and led to the final decision of hanging herself at the last moment.
