The Jaffna Division Crime Investigation Unit says that a popular suspect who has been wanted for a long time in connection with the secret heroin trafficking in Jaffna district has been arrested along with heroin.

According to the information received by the Jaffna Divisional Crime Investigation Unit, a group of its officers had taken steps to arrest this trafficker by using an agent to buy heroin from the suspect.

At the time of the suspect’s arrest, along with 05 grams of heroin, the police also found an amount of 75,000 rupees, which was profited from the sale of heroin.

 It is revealed that the relevant suspect, who was wanted by the police for a long time, is one of the main distributors of heroin in the Jaffna district and the suspect is a resident of Jaffna itself.

The Jaffna Division Criminal Investigation Unit, which is conducting the investigation, added that steps have been taken to present the arrested suspect to the Jaffna Magistrate’s Court.
