Thailand’s Constitutional Court has ordered the suspension of Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha’s tenure.
The court has announced this decision today while examining a petition submitted by the opposition regarding the term of office.
54 judges of the Constitutional Court have voted and announced this decision and accordingly, the tenure of the former Prime Minister ended on August 23.
Pravit Wongsuwan has been appointed as the caretaker Prime Minister of the country.
Mr Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is currently staying in Thailand.
