The Ministry of Agriculture stated that the Paddy Marketing Board has taken steps to purchase paddy from tomorrow (17).
The Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera stated that, accordingly, Nadu rice will be purchased at a price of 120 rupees, Samba rice at 125 rupees, and Keeri Samba rice for 130 rupees.
The minister further mentioned that all necessary arrangements have been made for that.
It is hoped that the purchased paddy will be converted into the rice and presented to the market under the name of PMD rice.
