 Passengers are facing severe difficulties due to the strike started by several private bus unions,

It is noted that the number of private buses travelling from many cities has decreased.

The Secretary of All Ceylon Private Bus Owners’ Association Mr. Ajanna Priyanjith said that the Inter-Provincial Bus Owners’ Association and the Common United Bus Owners’ Association are joining the strike.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Ceylon Private Bus Owners’ Association Mr. Gemunu Wijeratne stated that his association has also withdrawn from the bus service since midnight last night.

 Due to the bus strike, there was also an increase in passengers on the coastal railway.
