Draupadi Murmu, a tribal woman, became the President of India

 

Active politics in India is done by a Prime Minister. The president is a nominal person. Someone who can bring some honor to the country will be appointed for that. The President, who has no governing powers, is elected by the state leaders.

The votes that mark the leaders are considered as a reflection of the people and the president is chosen.

Several names were proposed for the President’s chair in India recently and today (21) is being reported Draupadi Murmu will be elected as the 15th President of India.

She is the first tribal and second woman in the country to hold this highest constitutional post
