The sea rises.. Galle road is closed

Galle road from Ambalangoda Madampe Usmudalawa Junction to Dehiwala has been closed due to sea waves coming ashore. Police are asking drivers to use alternate routes.

In Dehiwala, Ambalangoda Galle and many other areas, due to sea waves coming ashore, traffic has been severely disrupted. Due to the prevailing strong winds and the turbulent nature of the sea, the sea waves have come ashore.

The Department of Meteorology states that an increase in wind conditions can be expected in the Western and South Sea areas due to the activation of the Southwest Monsoon.
