Measures have been taken to increase bus fares with effect from yesterday midnight.

Accordingly, bus fares will be increased by 22% and the minimum bus fare will be increased to 40 rupees.

This has been approved by the National Transport Commission. The increase is in line with the annual bus fare revision that took effect on July 1.
