The Russian Embassy in Colombo has stated that it is considering Sri Lanka’s request for fuel from Russia.

A spokesman for the Russian embassy said it had already inquired about the possibility of obtaining oil from Russia and was considering it.

The spokeswoman also said that reports that the Russian ambassador had discussed the matter with the Minister of Energy were untrue.
