The state of emergency in Sri Lanka was revoked

Action has been taken to remove the gazette notification issued by the President enforcing the state of emergency in the country.

 President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa issued a special gazette notification.

Accordingly, the state of emergency will be lifted from midnight yesterday. A state of emergency was declared following a protest near the president’s residence.
