Ukraine Russia war – An attempt is underway to bring back Sri Lankans trapped in Ukraine through Poland

The Sri Lankan embassy in Ankara says that discussions have been held to repatriate Sri Lankan students trapped in Ukraine via Poland.

Sri Lanka’s ambassador to Turkey, Georgia and Ukraine, MR Hassan, said the border authorities had been informed about the Sri Lankans.

Meanwhile, due to the crisis situation in Ukraine, there are two special hotlines for Sri Lankans in Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, a 24-hour hotline has been set up at the Sri Lankan Embassy in Ankara for Sri Lankans in Ukraine.

Accordingly, they can contact the embassy at +90 534 456 94 98 or +90 312 427 10 32.

The Foreign Ministry said it had instructed the embassy in Ankara to take appropriate steps to coordinate the safe repatriation of other Sri Lankans staying in Ukraine due to the escalating situation.
