Former IGP Pujith Jayasundara acquitted in the Easter case

A three-judge bench of the Colombo High Court today acquitted former IGP Pujith Jayasundara of all charges against him for failing to prevent an Easter Sunday terrorist attack.

The order was issued today by a unanimous decision of a three-judge bench of the Colombo High Court comprising Namal Balalle, Aditya Patabendige and Mohamed Irsadeen.

Pujith Jayasundara was acquitted in this case filed by the Attorney General under 855 indictments without even calling the witnesses in the case.

In addition, a three-judge bench of the Colombo High Court today acquitted former Defense Secretary Hemasiri Fernando of all charges against him for failing to prevent an Easter Sunday terrorist attack.
