A schoolgirl who was seriously injured in a stabbing has died today. The victim is a 15-year-old school girl residing in Kantale, Agbopura, Peramaduwa area.

The schoolgirl was stabbed while she was at home. A youth who has been identified as a boyfriend has been arrested on suspicion in connection with the incident.

The girl’s mother was also at home at the time of the stabbing and police suspect that the suspect had been hiding in the house when the attack took place.

The girl who was in a critical condition died at the hospital today while receiving treatment. They arrested a 17-year-old who has been remanded till the 9th of this month after being produced before the Kantale Chief Magistrate.
