The gold-plated necklace attached to the statue was looted after damaging a statue erected inside a Christian church

Police say that the gold plated necklace worn on the statue has been looted after the statue erected inside a Christian church in the Poololi area in the Point Pedro Police Division in Jaffna was damaged by someone on the 25th night

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a church in St. Thomas’ Catholic Church, south of Puloli.

There the glass of the shrine was broken and the gold plated necklace attached to the statue was taken away.

After the Catholic Church informed the Point Pedro Police about the incident, the police went to the scene and launched an investigation but no arrests have been made so far.
