A fire in a forest reserve near the Keselgamu Oya, which is the main source of water for Castlereagh Reservoir, has destroyed about two acres.
The fire had destroyed a reserve in the wet zone of Chapelton Estate in the Bogawantalawa Police Division.
The fire broke out at around 5 pm on the 15th and lasted till around 7 pm.
Residents of the Bogawantalawa area say that a group of people may have set fire to the reserve due to the severe dry weather conditions prevailing in the area.
