Famous drug trafficker “Shata” reveals about firearms brought to Sri Lanka

Udayanga Lakmal Aka ‘Shata’, a drug trafficker who was evading the Police Narcotics Bureau has been arrested after surrendering to the Trincomalee Police.

During interrogations, it was revealed that he had recently imported 200 kilograms of heroin and 14 pistols.

Udayanga Lakmal alias ‘Shata’, who was wanted by the Police Narcotics Bureau for a special investigation, had been evading police for some time and the police had to seek public assistance to find him.

 ‘Shata’ had recently surrendered to the Trincomalee police following a statement issued by the police.

Accordingly, the suspect who was brought to the Narcotics Bureau has been detained for 7 days and questioned.
