A gazette notification has been issued to make teacher-principal services closed services.
The relevant gazette notification has been issued with the signature of the Secretary to the Ministry of Education Prof. Kapila Perera.
Accordingly, the Principal Service, Teacher Advisory Service and Teacher Service have been made a closed service with effect from 30.08.2021.
The relevant gazette notification states that the powers and provisions relating to appointments, promotions, discipline, transfers and other institutional matters will continue to be effective for the respective services at present.
Also, the authorities can inquire about the specific salary structure that is unique to each service and revise it as appropriate.
