A youth was injured in a shooting in the Vishwamadu area in Puthukuduirippu East, police said.

During an argument between two persons last evening (10), another person who had arrived at the scene had opened fire with a locally made firearm.

 A 22-year-old youth was injured in the shooting and was admitted to the Kilinochchi Hospital and later transferred to the Jaffna Hospital for further treatment.

The suspect has been arrested and is due to be produced before the Mullaitivu Magistrate’s Court today (11)
