Fishermen rescued from Maldivian waters

 Navy rescues five Sri Lankan fishermen stranded in Maldivian waters Navy Media Spokesman Capt.

Indika de Silva stated that a trawler consisting of 06 fishermen had left the Beruwala seas for fishing.

It has been reported to the Navy that the fishing vessel has not been in contact with the land since the 4th of this month.

The Navy said that 5 fishermen were rescued from the trawler yesterday (07) morning.

One fisherman on board the boat has gone missing and the five rescued fishermen are being brought to the Galle harbour, the Navy said.
