A student was lifted from his legs and thrown into the river over a bridge

A 12-year-old student who was on his way home from school was thrown from his legs over the bridge and thrown into the river in Godakawela, reports say.

The university student has been arrested by the locals and handed over to the police.

 Godakawela Police stated that they are conducting inquiries as to whether he is in a critical condition.

The student who fell into the river is a seventh year student of a school in Godakawela and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
